The Ceremony
Necker Island has a wealth of locations to choose from, all catering to groups of different sizes. For larger weddings of up to 200 people the best options are the sandy beaches on the island’s western side. However, our team will be happy to talk you through all the options available and advise on where to hold your reception. Here are just some of the possibilities… Turtle Beach is an all-time favourite for our guests – feel the sand between your toes as you walk down the aisle. The Great House Southern Terrace: See the whole of the British Virgin Islands from this vantage point at the top of Necker Island and exchange vows as the sun sets. Want to say ‘I do’ somewhere else? Of course, our team can do just about anything… |
The Reception
Following the wedding ceremony there are just as many options to choose from for your reception. We can organise a six-course gala dinner or a more informal gathering on Bali Hi Beach lit by tiki torches with the sound of the waves breaking on the shoreline. The Beach Pool Pavilion alongside Main Beach has a large crocodile shaped table and a Jacuzzi for up to 30 guests, so the party is sure to continue late into the night! There is also the Great House, the scene of more parties than we dare to count. Start with a gala dinner in the Great Room, or gather round the large table on the roof terrace. This table is the only piece of furniture that survived the 2011 fire! |

Necker Island can be booked exclusively year-round. That’s just you plus 33 friends and family on your own private Caribbean island. One word of warning: once you’ve seen the world in Necker colours, you might not want to leave! |

Come in and make yourself at home. Necker Island is normally hired exclusively, but on selected weeks during the year you can book an individual room as a couple, single or as a family. We call these weeks ‘Celebration Weeks’. |
The Ceremony
The clubhouse on the 6th floor of The Roof Gardens is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 people. Although the Gardens themselves are not licensed for civil ceremonies, couples can have blessings in the Gardens, and of course those all-important wedding photographs. The beautiful setting provides a unique backdrop for such a special day complete with four resident flamingos who are very happy to pose for pictures! |

Getting Married in Switzerland
Couples wishing to get married in Switzerland can enjoy either a Registry Office or Church Wedding. If travelling from overseas you will need to complete all the legal paperwork prior to arriving into Switzerland with the Swiss Embassy of their home country. Once this has been completed you can then arrange a date for the marriage to take place. All details regarding the legality and procedures for getting married overseas can be found on the relevant Swiss Embassy website in your country however our team is very happy to assist you with all the legal paperwork. Please note this process can take up to 3-4 months. |
Wedding Dining
The food served at The Lodge is one of the highlights of your stay, and they serve a mix of Swiss and international cuisine. This very special first meal as a married couple can be as formal or informal as you wish from five-course gourmet meals to home-style classics, The Lodge will tailor-make the menu based around your ideas and preferences! In the evening (weather permitting) you may like to enjoy dining al fresco whilst enjoying the fresh mountain air on the terrace! All meals are tailor-made, so ask us for some ideas or give us yours. In addition, The Lodge stock a great range of international wines, top quality spirits, international beers and excellent house champagne. |
The Chalet
Pre or post wedding day, when the weather is glorious it’s more than likely you’ll be spending plenty of time on the mountain, but when you get back to The Lodge there’s still plenty to do. Pull off those hiking or ski boots and relax in the lounge with a cool drink curled up on a comfy sofa. Or if your muscles ache, take a dip in the indoor heated pool, or warm yourself up in the indoor or outdoor Jacuzzis. Later on, tuck in to some of the exquisite dishes from the kitchen – order what you want, or let The Lodge surprise you! You can even watch the chefs at work and pick up some tips while you try a few glasses of red or white from our wine cellar. |
The Essentials
When you take the whole chalet exclusively for a wedding, your accommodation for up to 18 adults and six children, all meals and drinks, 24-hour driver service within Verbier, taxes and a dedicated team of staff will be included. Accommodation rate will vary depending on whether you choose to get married in the summer or in the winter seasons. We will be delighted to work with you on the all, the extras and trimmings that a wedding involves. |
Party Size
For smaller parties with up to 10 guests, simply book the number of rooms that you require and we will tailor-make your special day to suit the size of your party. Perhaps a private picnic for two with a bottle of wine of Cap Classique to celebrate, or a more formal affair in Miko our main restaurant, or both! We can offer some suggestions based on the time of the year and your party size. |
Menus
Mont Rochelle does not have any standardised menus; they prefer to tailor them to your liking. For smaller parties, they serve a seasonal à la carte menu, braai or they are happy to create a set menu to suit your taste. Reception dinners are usually held in either the main restaurant, Miko, or in The Country Kitchen. |
Special Touches
It’s important to note that Mont Rochelle does not provide a wedding planner service. They work closely with chosen suppliers and service providers, who they trust and have years of experience. If you would like us to assist with the legalities, minister and documentation as well as organise photograhy, florist or wedding cake suppliers, please do let us know. |
The Ceremony
At Mont Rochelle, your ceremony can be held in one of the following stunning settings: • Miko Restaurant can cater for up to 60 people and is a stunning location for those wanting a formal dining location for their wedding reception. |
• Country Kitchen Restaurant: The Country Kitchen can be used both as a ceremony site and as a reception area. In the case of bad weather, Country Kitchen restaurant area can effortlessly be transformed into a beautiful modern country style ‘chapel’.
• The Rose Garden: If you are looking for a more contemporary wedding, there is the three tiered lawn in front of the Manor House and Rose Garden. These two areas have endless possibilities to hold both ceremony and reception for up to 80 people. • Manor House: The stunning modern Manor House can be used as a reception area with its dining room doors folding open to join the courtyard as one big dining area. • Country Kitchen Bell: This pretty spot with a decorative bell tower is perfect for up to 20 people. It’s located in a courtyard between the Country Kitchen and the Wine Cellar. • Vineyard Rooftop: With endless views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards, this lawn setting is adjacent to Miko Restaurant and Terrace. This space can cater for up to 80 people comfortably. |
Party Size
Mont Rochelle has 26 rooms and suites available to book. The main hotel has 22-bedrooms which can sleep up to 44 adults, plus additional children. For the wedding party looking for a slightly more secluded area, we would recommend booking The Manor House. This attractive villa can accommodate up to 8 guest sharing 4 bedrooms. Any additional guests can stay in nearby hotels and guest houses in Franschhoek. |
Menus
When it comes to picking your wedding breakfast, the choice of food is completely up to you. For bigger parties, you just let us know your preferences, as we’ll take care of the rest! For any wedding over 60 people, they will hire a marquee on your behalf which will be erected in the garden at Mont Rochelle or in the Winery Garden. A dinner at Mont Rochelle wouldn’t be complete without some delicious wines. Mont Rochelle has a wide variety of wines, spirits and other beverages available, including their very own wines, produced from their vineyard. We can work with you to select which beverages you would like to offer guests to suit your budget. |
The Ceremony
In the heart of the Kenyan Bush there are plenty of places to get married and toast the happy couple, but here are just some of our favourites: • Lone Tree Hill: With stunning savannah views, it’s a beautiful location to say ‘I do’ covered by large canopied trees. • Big Rock: Expect panoramic views of the conservancy and incredible sunsets; it’s a special spot for the ceremony, sundowners or bush dinners. • Pool Deck: This location is perfect for smaller weddings, receptions or private dinners. The infinity pool extends the view during the day and in the evening is lit up with candles and lamps creating a romantic atmosphere. • Fire Deck: From this spectacular elevated space with views out into the gorge, watch the sun set while the firepit provides the perfect romantic atmosphere. • Shepherd’s Nook: This area offers privacy and is a small but beautiful area. It’s also the perfect spot to continue the celebrations with a reception or bush dinners. |
The Reception
From dancers to dinners here are just a few ideas of how you can get the party started! • Maasai Dancers: For a traditional celebration the Maasai dancers perform their traditional song and dance, which involves the men jumping in the centre of a circle formed by other Maasai warriors. This is traditionally performed to try and impress the young women with their athleticism! • Bush Dinner: A bush dinner is the perfect setting for couples looking for an intimate romantic and is an idea setting for smaller groups. • Bush Game Drives: Spend your first moments as a married couple amongst the wild animals roaming the Kenyan plains. |
Party Size
Mahali Mzuri has 12 luxury suites designed to sleep two adults and 10 of the 12 can be split into twin beds. Two tents are configured to accommodate two additional children or young adults. The resort can cater for a maximum of 24 guests in the camp at any one time. If you do intend to bring children to the ceremony they will only be allowed to accompany the adults on game drives if they are at least six years of age. Younger children cannot be left behind at camp without an adult supervisor from the wedding party. |

When you book the camp exclusively for a wedding or blessing, the resort can host a maximum of 24 guests. The exclusive use rates include your accommodation, all meals and drinks (including alcohol), twice daily game drives, transfers from the nearest airstrip, wireless internet, laundry service and all taxes |

Mahali Mzuri is not just a great place for a wedding – it’s also an amazing setting for your bachelor or bachelorette party, otherwise known as stag and hen parties. Our only piece of advice? Don’t plan these parties the night before the wedding! In addition to parties in the evening, we’ve also organised some daytime activities. Here are just a couple of ideas:
FOR THE GIRLS… An indulgent spa morning in our Nasaro Spa treatment tent followed by an relaxing afternoon by the pool with plenty of cocktails, canapés and the odd sip (or two!) of something fizzy! (additional charges will apply for spa treatments) FOR THE BOYS… A game drive with the boys out into the bush. We’ll set up a campfire for some male bonding time! |
