Most of the resorts in Denarau are close to the Marina where transfers to the islands depart from, so it's great for those staying
there before heading off to the islands.
Denarau is close to the airport, so transfers are quick and easy and if you have a group of people attending your wedding, it can
make a lot more sense.
Also there are many restaurants at the Marina for a great choice in dining but just a note - Denarau may not really be the idyllic Fiji most people imagine!
Sofitel Fiji Resort
The majority of the bigger resorts on the mainland are on the Coral Coast. It takes around 3 hours
to get from one end to the other, with heaps of resorts dotted along the way.
The beaches are nicer here and are often protected by lagoons so are quite calm, although it is called
the Coral Coast for a reason. These resorts suit longer stays or if you want a bit more of a Fijian feel and resort experience. Parts of the coast do have wonderful beaches though!
The Fiji you imagine is mostly found on the islands. There are many different islands, some that are family oriented with varying
degrees of budget. From Plantation Island,
Musket Cove, Castaway and Malolo Islands, to exclusive islands such as Vomo and Yasawa Island Resorts.
Which island will suit you depends mainly on your budget, but the islands are quintessential Fiji, with white sand beaches, swaying palm trees and everything you imagine it to be!
